Editorial Policy

Flexivo publishes work-hours calculators and explanatory guides. We make the arithmetic and its limits visible so visitors can check a scenario against their own records.

Stated methods

Shift tools use 24-hour decimal clock entries and an unpaid break in minutes. They treat an earlier end-clock time as the following day and cannot identify a full 24-hour or multi-day shift from clock values alone. Gross-pay scenarios use one hourly rate, an entered threshold and an entered multiplier. PTO scenarios use a simple hours-earned ratio.

Sources and scope

Official labor guidance provides context for requirements; it is separate from the arithmetic. A link to U.S. federal overtime guidance does not establish a worker’s eligibility, override state requirements or define an employer’s PTO policy. Use the source and policy relevant to the question rather than borrowing a default from an example.

Drafting and verification

Initial text used AI assistance. Worked examples are checked against actual calculator output, including decimal conversion, overnight hours and invalid inputs where relevant. Correct arithmetic does not demonstrate that a break, threshold, multiplier or accrual basis is applicable. Default values are illustrative, and results are not audited payroll statements.

Corrections and updates

Report an issue through the contact page, giving its URL, anonymous inputs and expected result. Formula and example changes should be checked across related pages. Review dates should reflect substantive review. We do not claim continuous monitoring of employment laws or private employer policies.

Advertising

Advertisements, when present, are separate from calculator controls and explanations. An ad is not a Flexivo recommendation. Sponsored or affiliate relationships should be disclosed on the relevant page and must not change the arithmetic or be presented as an independent review.
